I had the opportunity to try Cook It last month which happened right when I was moving into my new [temporary] place. It really was the perfect time for me to get back into home cooked meals after months of living out of a suitcase, in & out of Montreal.
It wasn’t my first time with Cook It though, which was great to see the evolution of this Montreal startup!
The unboxing experience is great. As soon as you open the box, you find the recipes to the dishes you picked, with a beautiful photo walkthrough.
You can easily keep these sheets to remake the same recipes with your own ingredients or even gift them to a foodie around you.
Each group of ingredients come in its own bag and has minimum wrapping which I appreciate. The proteins are found in the bottom next to a few bags of dry ice for safe transport.
I can say that I’m a pretty seasoned cook but they found a way to make me try something new with this delicious risotto made from turmeric and dijon mustard!
I tried four different recipes with my box and I enjoyed all of them but the lamb meatballs was crazy delicious, I’d look out for it if I were you 😉
Overall, I think Cook It is a solid ready to cook delivery service especially if you’re looking to improve your skills in the kitchen. It’s like taking a cooking course without paying extra and doing it from the comfort of your own kitchen.
On my end, I still prefer to make my own recipes and going to PA Nature is still one of my favourite activities when I have a minute 😛 (Yes, I’m obviously in my 30s!)
